If you are a librarian with any involvement in cataloging at your institution, you know firsthand how frustrating the ease of obtaining, downloading and overall comprehensiveness of MARC records can be. We understand that full, high-quality MARC records greatly improve the discoverability and usage of your resources, and that having them automated eases the burden on collection management staff.
We are pleased to remind you that Taylor & Francis has partnered with OCLC to automatically add and maintain your knowledge base collection data. To help reduce the challenges in your management of Taylor & Francis eBooks, you can now automate subscription management workflows, eliminating the need for manual intervention by library staff.
This means that (with your permission) Taylor & Francis will provide weekly updates to OCLC with your library’s specific holdings data (including new and deleted titles) so that OCLC can automatically:
*Requires an active OCLC Cataloging and Metadata Subscription
Taylor & Francis subscribers who have an active OCLC cataloging subscription can follow these simple steps to take advantage of this benefit with WorldShare Collection Manager.
For Taylor & Francis subscribers who do not have an OCLC cataloging subscription, OCLC has developed a setup wizard to guide you through the process of getting started. OCLC has also created a video and documentation that walks you through the setup wizard process in Collection Manager.
If you have already enabled MARC record delivery in Collection Manager, you can follow the steps under Manage WorldCat Holdings to enable automated holdings maintenance.
At Taylor & Francis, it is our pleasure to provide you efficient, sustainable solutions to your everyday library challenges. If would like to provide us feedback about how we can further assist with your cataloging efforts, please fill out the form below.
