Librarian challenges: a poll summary

Earlier this year, Taylor & Francis set off to discover what the greatest challenges are that librarians face in their libraries.  We created a poll exhibiting some popular challenges in the library and displayed colored tokens to represent each challenge, which librarians placed their votes with.  We conducted this poll at major library conferences to initiate discussions with librarians who participated on how we might help with these obstacles.

Results

The above graph reinforces that the biggest issue librarians face is communicating the value of the library to administrators and advocating their budget.  In 2017, Taylor & Francis devoted a whitepaper to this very topic, which you can download here.
