The Socially-Distanced Library: The Leadership Perspective

Hear from Jennifer Fabbi, Dean of the University Library at California State University, San Marcos and Julie Todaro, Dean, Library Services at Austin Community College as they talk about the deliberations and decisions—some easy, some difficult—they needed to make for each of their libraries as their institutions shifted instruction online. They’ll discuss how workflows and job descriptions have changed, the changing make-up of their collections, plans for physical space renovations, budgetary shifts, and how they’re managing their libraries during a time that not only includes a health crisis, but social unrest and an economic downturn. Through it all, though, they’ll point out specific opportunities they’ve recognized to drive positive, long-term changes to the way their libraries operate.
