Open access books and chapters

At Taylor & Francis we’ve been publishing open access journals since 2006, and in 2013 we launched our open access book program. We publish open access books and book chapters across all subjects in the humanities, social sciences, STEM and behavioral sciences covered by Routledge, CRC Press and our other imprints.

Anyone, anywhere can access over 2,800 books with open access content through our Taylor & Francis eBooks platform.

What are open access books?

Open access books are single- or co-authored books, edited collections and individual chapters published as gold open access. This means that the final published version is freely available to anyone, anywhere to read, download, and share under a Creative Commons license.

Our open access book content benefits from:

    • The same high quality professional production process as our traditionally published titles

It is our belief that the option to publish open access is available to as many researchers as possible. To help achieve this we also offer reduced pricing on the Book Processing Charges (BPCs) normally required to publish in the Taylor & Francis open access books program to eligible funders from lower income countries.

Taylor & Francis is a Gold Sponsor of the directory of open access books (DOAB).

DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers.
