Supporting Diverse Communities

At Taylor and Francis, we understand that as well as responding to the learning and remote access needs of your immediate patrons, in addition to faculty outreach, there may be times where you need to reach out to the wider local community. Thus, ‘Supporting Diverse Communities’ has been produced to help guide library practitioners with essential information and advice on how to support diverse communities outside of the immediate institution, by improving community partner engagement, with the library as an agent of social change, championing freedom of information and equal access. Topics covered include, the unrecognized role of libraries in collaboration to improve communities, libraries as agents of social change, the university-community partnership as an important link for social work education, social justice in library and information science, and supporting the ‘non-affiliated user’.
